AWARDS TO HEALTHY CITIES

 
To encourage cities to continue to innovate and demonstrate effective and efficient ways of promoting and protecting health of urban populations, WHO and the Alliance for Healthy Cities recognize and award outstanding work in certain defined areas.
 



    WHO Recognition for Healthy Cities 2014


General Call - Best Practices

Eligible applicants: All WPRO member states
Deadline for submission: 31 July 2014
Submission format: Submission Form (link to template)
How to submit: Please email your submission and supporting documents to the Noncommunicable Diseases and Health Promotion Unit nhp@wpro.who.int
Recognition: A plaque of recognition will be awarded to applicants who successfully demonstrate best practice in the following areas.  Awardees will be announced at the Alliance for Healthy Cities 6th Global Conference, 29-31 October 2014 in Hong Kong (SAR), China.

 

List of proposed WHO Healthy Cities thematic areas:

 

 

1) Protecting, promoting and supporting healthy diets: salt reduction

2) Protecting, promoting and supporting healthy diets: restricting marketing of unhealthy food and beverages to children

4) Measuring the impact of city-level tobacco control policies

  • Ensure scientifically valid methods and results, and existence of a sound plan for dissemination of results
